Japanese Oddity

Specs: Bike: 1993 Japanese import Suzuki DR200SEP Djebel Paint: All original, re-polished plastics Tuning: Renthal Chain, JT sprockets, Originally purchased on a whim as part of a barn clearance this poor little bike was missing most of its electrics and had sat for 11 years. Due to these being rare little bikes, with many features that weren't included on export models until the late 90's , I had to wait nearly a year to pick up all the bits it needed from good old ebay, most from a chap whose bike had thrown a con rod Brakes were rebuilt, Engine serviced, and part of the gearbox stripped and repaired to fix a faulty selector spring and ratchet, and many small parts such as the missing engine head-steady replaced. At this point a colleague happened to spot the bike outside my shed and enquired to purchasing it. While I originally had plans for trying my hand at green laneing, I was happy to see it go to a good home where it would be ridden and enjoy

CG home, and the next big thing...

After the completion of A level exams ( reasons for no posts in months!) finally bike building etc can continue as fast as daylight hours and funds will allow! In this intermission time the CG is now a full bike! Has been fitted with tank ( possibly old beeza?), electrics box, rear mudguard, seat and bits that make a bike, a bike. As can be seen there is still much work to do, exhaust, 'lectrics, and techy bits like that..................................... HOWEVER the next big thing as in a 400 Suzuki bandit has arrived . Currently there are no pics as work has been so damn fast! I bought it a few months back ready just to be MOTed and ridden, however it was green. Therefore me being me it has had a full strip down, in terms of cycle parts, and is going a classic shade of black! So now with just 10 days to go ( when my little EN125 paperwork expires) I have a frame ( nice shiny black), an engine (at least running and clean), and a massive collection of rusty, oily nuts and

Dad's Bonnie Part 1

So while its been quiet here for pretty much a year, a fair bits been going on behind the scenes. I've left uni...... twice, acquired a couple of new bikes and started digging into the work that was due on my dads old T120R Bonneville. With uni finally out of the way, it leaves me with a fair bit more time for bikes, if less funds for them.I'll do some blogs on the new bikes in the future when something interesting happens to them, but for now tales of an old Triumph. While I initially got the bike running in early June, after having been stood for three years and off the road for about nine it was late August by the time I had the funds to work on it properly. First off stopping power was sorted by rebuilding the original front lockheed caliper with new stainless pistons and a one piece, braided brake line and modern Triumph master cylinder. This was chosen with a matching clutch master cylinder that will be fitted in due time to go with a hydraulic clutch conve
